A/C operation is intermittent

Asked by Burfman Sep 05, 2019 at 08:07 PM about the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Sometimes it runs OK and then the next time it doesn't, no matter what I try.  I
think i can hear the refrigerant moving thru the coil  but no air flow.  I say this
because when it does start you get immediate very cold air.

No there is no air flow at all. I don’t hear the blower. Then after a while, boom all of a sudden here comes the air and it’s super cold. This tells me the compressor is running but not the blower. Every time I go to Jeep I get raped and I’m tired of that. I thought I might get the answer here. Thank you for replying, I appreciate it very much.

Check your connection to your blower motor you could have some burnt wires going to the blower motor or the resistor or your blower motor could just be going out that would be the only reason why your blower motor is not working

Thank you all for the help. It turned out to be the 40 amp fuse. It looked good but when I pulled it you could see the burn mark and discoloration on the tabs. I feel like a jerk asking for help as I have been a mechanic all my adult life (currently 76) and can usually figure these things out. Thanks again for the support. Great site
