Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Details:

-Especially slow when first starting the truck up, 0-20mph in ~15 seconds.
-Issue diminishes moderately, but not entirely, as the driving continues
-Airfilter is in good condition
-Truck was purchased brand new
-Truck has ~40K miles

Automechanics is not my purview, so I apologize if I'm not providing relevant

It could be a bad catalytic converter but your truck is pretty new so that should not be it. If it is the converter it should be covered under your emissions system warranty.

You have a 5 year 60,000 mile drive train warranty - http://www.edmunds.com/nissan/frontier/2013/st-200465002/features-specs/

It's really hard to say what is wrong, but 15 seconds to get to 20 mph something definitely is way off. There are a dozen sensors that could be faulty, but does the engine rev up to speed but just not accelerate... or engine just has no power?

FordNut, The engine definitely revs but acceleration is nowhere near commensurate with the amount of reving

Then it sounds more like a transmission problem. Check the fluid, running at normal operating temperature in Park. And Nathan soccermommy is flirting with you. Must be the good looks and your vocabulary proves you are an educated man

Update I took it to an auto shop, they said the clutch was burnt out. I find that odd for such a new car that is only used for commuting. Called Nissan, they said it is still under warranty. Hoping the dealership holds their end of the bargain and covers it. Thank you for all your help.
