sounds to me like you got a clogged gas filter. try checking and changing that first and while your at it try cleaning the mass air flow sensor with the special mass air flow cleaner. be sure to take the whole air flow sensor off the truck to clean. most cases start and stall is fuel related and if you got lots its most often something in betwen. also a side note also check for vacum line leaks and breaks. and check the fuel pump to make sure its working. easy way to find out get in your truck turn the key to power on and listen for the buzzing noise the pump makes when it primes the system. if it turns on for like 3 -5 seconds its working correctly. let me know if any of this helps

Possible IAC and or TPS problem , do you have a 5.9L Cummins.....5.9L gas or the 8.0L V10?
