l have a 2003 ranger was listening to the stereo with the key on.

went inside for 10 minutes or so came back out battery was dead. charged the battery and now will not turn over at all ? all lights work but when you turn key to start nothing at all. have listened to the stereo several times in the past like this with no issues. also hooked up a code reader and has " no link " with the key on. Idea's ???

Security system would let it turn over just wont let it start. As far as the battery goes is it old? It may need replaced or may have some corrosion on the cables maybe?

tried dif battery same result . checked all relays and 50 amp fuse all ok. key was in the on position... transponder in key (only have one) ? ignition switch or cylinder maybe ?
