is their a click or any sounds when you turn the key

the click i DO hear in ignition is at the point where starter should engage...but nothing happens, key returns to after start position..when released, but no instrumentation lights or noise from under hood

I had this problem does your negative battery terminal not have connection

only checked at battery, and it was good..horn works, little bell works when door is open and key in ignition...headlights work, 12.8 volts at battery...have a snowblower attached to front..and motor stalled twice while going through deep snow...but this happens and has happened for a few years, when it is in low and 4x and i try to go to fast, so as a result sometimes i have to ride the clutch a bit...but never had this happen before
