hi i have a 89 dodge dakota while im driving it it for a bit it just quits as if you turned the
key off but its on none of the dash worning lights come on but its not running ,i thought
it might be the fuel pump or filter so i poured gsa in the carb but it still wouldnt start but
turns over fine , after cranking it over several times still no results i finally cranked it
over and just kept cranking it till the battery sart running down and right at the last it
fired up again, this the 3rd time its done this this week any ideas of whats happening

Probably first thing I would do is replace the fuel filter and go from there.
thanks bob but shouldnt it have started when i poured gas in the carb?
It has a carburetor? In a 1989 V6? An early throttle body does resemble a carb, but are you sure it's not fuel injected? SPFI, single port?
your right i have a THROTTLE BODY air asperated 3.9L v6
heres what it looks like
Ok, I had a thought if it did have a carb. Like a stuck float, carbs were still on some vehicles in to I think as late as 1991 or so. But sorry, I'm out of my area here on Dodge.
fordnut, thanks for the help anyway, im open to any and all suggestons
