Is the ASD relay the same thing as the fuel pump relay.

Asked by GrumpyDave May 28, 2013 at 06:23 PM about the 1989 Dodge Dakota 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've seen references to the ASD, the auto choke/shutdown relay, and the fuel pump relay
in different sources.  Are these all different names for the same part, or are they different?
If they are different where would I find each on my 1989 Dodge Dakota, 3.9 4WD?

My understanding is for a dodge they are both different components.

same physical relay they can be swapped along with the stater relay. Interchange with working starter relay to check each relay.
