is it timing chained or a belt? Thanks

ashday7381...The WRX definitely uses a timing belt and not a timing chain...The pic below will give you an idea of what it looks like:

thank you. that was very helpful. what about the sti's? Because im thinking of getting a wrx because its cheaper but if the STi is timing chained then i think i'd rather get the STi instead.

Glad to be of help! The STi also uses a timing belt, by the way. It is faster with its turbo engine, but also more expensive...premium gas needed b/c of the turbo as well.
