New mini, 5 weeks old, sun roof wasn't closed all the way and stereo got wet. It works, but
the lights don't come on. Dealer says stereo needs to be replaced, for 900 dollars.

Check firstly with your auto insurer as your coverage should include the radio for you. As well, don’t go into a panic thinking about any supposed increase in your insurance premium as this is NOT necessarily the case... one buys insurance in case it is needed. Good luck and post back with whatever route you take ie: Tom’s suggestion or insurance.
