Car goes haywire when I connect the battery

Asked by Julio Oct 03, 2016 at 11:40 PM about the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the batter in my truck, the
positive was loose and when I wiggled it it
popped off and sparked a little, now when I
reconnect the battery the horn goes off
and won't shut off and the wipers move
and spray continuously. Along with the
headlights flashing (the engine turns on)
but the symptoms won't go away. Would it
be a fuse that went out and if so what
fuse?

I'm having a similar issue with my saturn astra now. I have an aftermarket remote start and thought it may be the theft deterrent. you should pull your wiper fuse so you dont waste and burnout your system. also pull the horn fuse and you will hear a fan around the engine going. You may have no power inside but you should have a dome light. I think you may have shorted out your alternator.

I have the exact truck as Guruhxty9 with the exact issues replaced the battery now its wipers and horn go constantly and nothing works in the cab and won't start.

BCM is messed up. The dealer maybe able to do a re-flash to get the accessories back.
