Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2014 Crosstour with a large leak and HEAVY RUST in drivers rear quarter. 3 Honda dealerships have stated no knowledge of the problem. I have found at least 10 other owners with the same problems. All having the same answer. (NOTHING) I am in search of the leak myself since hourly shop rate could take my bank account.
Warranty is 3years 36000 miles...
Any input would be very appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 2013 Crosstour EX-L with this exact problem. I found the source of the water leak. Under the back seat cushion there is a body seam 6 in up from the seat floor that is not sealed. With the bottom seat cushion out, we have observed water pouring in to the well under the driver's rear seat which then migrates to the entire rear hatch floor area on the driver side. I have pictures documenting substantial rust and fluid entry point. A reputable body shop in my area agrees that this is a manufacturer defect. The Honda representative has refused to meet with me. I believe it's time for a class action suit. My name is Brian Bayley and you can contact me at surgicalrepairs@gmail.com

I have the same rust on my 2014 Crosstour - rear, driver quarterpanel - just above the wheel. Anyone have any luck with Honda owning up to this? Helping with repair?

ZERO resolution from the Dealer where I bought the car. Service put in a "goodwill" request. Denied. Said out of warranty. This is a defect. . I read above that others are experiencing a leak "Under the back seat cushion there is a body seam 6 in up from the seat floor that is not sealed: wondering if this could be the culprit. I am getting nowhere with this stupid800.999.1009 number that Honda Corporate provides. This number is a scam to get you to sign up for products and NOT A HELP LINE. I keep getting sent back to: http://owners.honda.com/help/customer-relations. I've been directed to FAQ. Litterally, no one at HONDA CORPORATE WILL SPEAK TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.

I did get through to the Warranty dept on that 800-999-1009 number. She took my info and warned me it would be weeks before I heard from anyone due to them being overwhelmed by some major recall issue. I stated. "And I guess my car will keep rusting while I wait". She mentioned some people do repairs and hope and wait to be reimbursed...for months. Im having it repaired by my local body guy, time to move on to another brand.

We've got the same thing happening on a 2014 and it's been about 2 years since it began. Please keep up posted if anyone has success. Don't want to drop 3-4K on a mfg. defect.

Our 2014 started rusting on the inside door panel. Going through emails with Honda exects to see if anything can be done. Dealer takes no responsibility, out of warranty. Should not rust from the inside out. They will fix fro 1200.00.

I have a 2014 honda crosstour and have the same problem. Went to Lia Honda in Brewster, NY and they said they had never seen anything like that. since the car is past the warranty, they told me to bring it back to where I bought it, which was White Plains Honda, located in White Plains, NY. I brought it to them and they are giving me a discounted price to fix it (500 versus the 1200) I am getting it fixed, but I am still fighting with Honda Corporate to get it paid for completely and for them to won up to the problem. HONDA CORPORATE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS, AS THEY DO NOT RETURN EMAILS.

I have the same problem in same location on my 2014 V6 Honda Crosstour. How do we get honda to pay for this. It is seeping rust! And the paint is bubbling onto the left rear quarter panel as well. Anyone had any luck getting this covered? Jncollichio731@gmail.com

2014 with drivers side rust on rear quarter panel and inside of the door. It's been progressing for about 3 years. The rest of the car is great. The body shop we took it to knew all about the problem but was 4K to fix it. Shame. I love Honda but this isn't right.

My 2014 Crosstour EX-L has bubbling rust specifically around the edges of the gas cover. I wonder if the leak source described in previous posts might be the source of my rust. When I removed the plastic liner covering the gas filler pipe inside the wheel well, there was a fair bit of light surface rust. I took pics and my dealer here in Canada sent them to Honda Canada to no avail. Far from pleased. Would have at least expected them to share the cost of repairs.
