My Ford edge power liftgate doesn't close. When I hit the button to it goes down
a few inches then goes back up.

Exact same problem here. To get it to lower, I have to manhandle it down to close it. I tried WD-40 on the rod inside the lift cylinder and it worked for a while, but now it's malfunctioning again. VERY annoying.

My 2017 Ford Edge is doing this exact thing also. It opens fine by remote or the buttons. But when I hit the button to close it beeps and won’t close. I need to do it manually. Any ideas? I haven’t been to ford yet but that’s my next stop.

Replace with "used" or "salvaged" same part. The price is only 65 dollars against 400 dollars for the brand new.
