Tire Pressure -- Slow Leak

I bought this 2014 Sentra and immediately the back left tire slowly leaked air. In
about 5,000 miles of use, I decided to get a new set of tires. Within a week or
so the same back left tire was slowly leaking air. Could a faulty TPMS be doing
the leaking?

There are two areas where it could be leaking. Yes, the tire valve could be leaking if it wasn't replaced when you got the new tires. Most tires shops will include a new valve. The other one is the rim is bent or corroded enough around the edge or what is called the bead, that air won't hold. Take the car back the shop that installed the new tires to explain your issue so they can remedy a repair.
