99 gmc jimmy

Got pulled over twice for break lights.
Cop says the break lights
arent,working they just stay on. Only
when the highbeams r,on...
My hazard button is,actually broken
its small and on top of steering wheel.
All my otherlights work turn signals
everything,besides breaks... we got
the bulbs,replaced ... still dont wrk.
Someone help asap.

I would check the bulbs, the electrical connections at the bulbs, the fuse and if that does not do it, the brake switch at the brake pedal.

Brake lights staying on, like Regrets says, check brake switch at the brake pedal, button may be stuck or also like you say hazard button broke, if it is stuck, pressed down, would have the turn signal lights on all the time, even with key out of ignition. One other thing would be a turn signal relay could be bad.

On these trucks when the hazard switch breaks you loose break lights. Get a new hazard switch. Sometimes you can move it around and wedge a screw in it just right, but I suggest a new one.
