Asked by Gary Dec 28, 2016 at 06:05 AM about the 1999 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr SLE 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I had the GMC WITH STARTING ISSUES. I
believe it was my head gasket that went. The
reason it wouldnt start at times i believe it was
sucking coolent into the cylinder making it hard to
start.

Also, you would have noticed white smoke coming out the exhaust and a sweet smell of anti-freeze along with continuous low coolant level. If these symptoms are not the case, you may want to check the fuel pressure, it should be 56 to 63 lbs.
