99 Jimmy engine question

Asked by Daniel Jan 05, 2017 at 09:39 PM about the 1999 GMC Jimmy 4 Dr SLT 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is it normal for a 99 Jimmy 4.3l to be
sort of weak or shall I say sluggish
when trying to accelerate.   Once it
are up to speed it's OK, I think.  But
speeding up it just doesn't seem to
have the get up and go it should
have.   I've had it 7 yrs    and it's
always been this way.  May be it's
normal, idk,  I had a 2003 s10 with a
2.2 like I think could be wrong but
that thing would move, it was a
manual  transmission though.  Any
thoughts?

A tune up may be in order, and start running some fuel injector cleaner threw it.
