car wont start with key in ignition

Asked by Guru95W9G8 Dec 31, 2020 at 12:26 PM about the 2015 Subaru Forester 2.5i

Question type: General

IN NJ WOODS 5MI. after hunting ,no phone network signal,car will not start
with key in ignition.will not turn L OR R. Tried depressing brake petal and
turning steering wheel while trying to turn key.Every button on key
working,open,close panic alarm

Most probably the Ignition switch or lock cylinder has broke. You'll have to walk to an area to get phone service to call for a tow.

steering wheel really has to be jingled for spring to engage or disengage,also make sure your in park position all the way.
