Question type: General

I had my 2015 Subaru Forester with less than
32,000 miles in for the 30K Maintance check with
my local mechanic. He did everything required but
noticed the right rear coil spring was broken on the
bottom.Taking car back to Subaru dealer.Luckily I
have the Subaru extended Gold Plus warranty
since I'm over the 3 year 3 or 36,000 factory
warranty.I hope the extended 7 year or 100,000
warranty covers the whole suspension
system.Comments?

It should be covered but you will have to take it in to find out. I have seen other reports of this problem.

I took car to dealership.Under the extended warranty their replacing the whole strut assembly and spring on the one side. Not the other side.Got a free loaner of a 2018 Outback. They want $840.00 to do the other side which at this time is undamaged.

Unless the car sits uneven (one side higher than the other) I would not replace the other strut. If if breaks you have your warranty.
