too short for lift gate

Hi, I am 70 and handicapped. I recently purchased a used 2015 equinox that I
love. I have 1 problem. when I open the lift gate to get my walker I can't reach
the lift gate to close it. My previous SUV had a strap. This one does not. What
can I use to remedy this problem

Can you attach your own strap to inside of lift gate? Either that or always travel with a taller friend.

HI, I have 2 torn rotator cuffs that keep me from putting my arms up. I have had 2 back surgeries and a hip replacement this year. I can not find a strap that will work for me. Chevy does not make one. That is why I am asking for help to figure something out. My Buick had a strap I could reach. I love the 2015 LS equinox. I have had 2 back surgeries and a hip replacement this year. I need a remedy not a smart XXX Emily

Does your key fob have a button for closing the hatch? If not you may want to change cars to one that does have this feature.

Buy some seat belt material and make a strap. You are making this more complicated than it needs to be.
