rear cargo door will not open

Asked by CGMA Apr 30, 2020 at 10:20 AM about the 2015 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My battery died. Everything works except the rear door will not open. There is
not even a beep when pressing the remote button or the interior console button.
Unable to open manually. The remote opens the car doors and starts the car
just not the cargo door.

Is rear hatch door ajar...even a little bit? Push down to hear it click locked if necessary. Once done, try hatch button. Two or three beeps?
