I have a 2017 and have the same issue. They have replaced the TCM? (computer) I believe that's what they called it. Unfortunately it has been back to the shop for 3rd time for the same issue. I've been told they cannot see any issues. It has been about a month in the shop for the 2 times and now we're at it again

Thank you, they never could find a problem, ended up paying 120$, to put it on a machine, couldn't find any problems, got it out, a month later did it again, sometimes i put my foot on the break while trying to crank it, if that doesnt work ill turn the key to auxiliary and put my foot on the break while putting the gear in N or D for about 10 to 15 seconds then it will start.smh, try that i hope it works for you, it beats taking your jeep back and forth to the shop.

My 2007 Patriot would not start until I fiddled with the relay box. After 2 weeks of hours of battery charging and stress, I solved the problem. The relay box is located to the right of the battery and forward. Stand on the drivers side to see it. You have to reach down almost to your elbow. I opened the top and wiggled the 4 plugs then reached under and jiggled the wires. It started immediately. I wish someone had told me that instead of quoting $900 + for a new relay box. Funny , the radio doesn't work.

I have a 2015 Patriot with the same problem now for over a year. The dealership has replaced the safety control switch because it would not go into park, starter because they thought that was the problem and it was not, they have reprogrammed the wcm, they have put dielectric grease on the starter wires, they have messed with the relay box and still I have the random no start issue. I have had my car towed multiple times and everytime the vehicle will start once it gets to the dealership. I now have Jeep involved in correcting this problem who knows what will happen. But if any one has had a fix done that I have not already stated please feel free to give me a suggestion.

As suggested by GuruLJJC4 that relay box was problematic. Not only was the cover not seated properly, dirt had filtered in, one relay was not seated and one relay showed corrosion on a pin. Needed pliers to pull out. So far so good. Why an electrical component is place so low in the engine compartment is stupefying (is that a word?). Thanks!

my 17 patriot turns over but sometimes does not start. this has gotten worse in 1.5 years. https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/no-start-jeep/ suggests what the problem could be, including the relay connectors, how to diagnose, wiring diagram and which wire to look for. this is where i will start. good luck... mike

Just this afternoon - Jeep Patriot 2013 wouldn't start. I used the trick of putting my jeep into neutral for 15 seconds and back into park and it started up! So thank you!!! Question though? Above comment about how the radio doesn't work - my radio hasn't worked for over a year. Would this also be an issue with the relay box wiring??

2011 Patriot wouldn't go over 35 mph. Did my research and ended up replacing throttle body. After replacing, it ran like a champ. After it was parked and shut off, it would not start. Replaced battery and starter.. What to do next? Going to try the neutral start trick and see if this works. Oh and already checked relay box.. Stumped

Update,Mine ended up being a loose connector behind the starter, so again had the starter replaced.

2015 patriot, moved the car forward in the driveway, went back later to crank it up and the starter turns over but doesn’t engage the engine to turn over .

My 2014 Jeep Patriot has been having mysterious issues with not wanting to start and needing more crankings recently. The issue seemed to start up in early 2020. Back then, I went to the Jeep dealer in Mt. Dora who said the 1.5 year old battery was fine but wanted me to leave the Jeep overnight. Then I recently took it to the Jeep dealer in Fruitland Park for an oil change and since I got the Jeep back, it is having start issues every day and getting worse.

I had a new 2016 Patriot. Mine continued having no cranking problems. It stayed at the dealership for months with no problems reflected. I emailed Chrysler no one never found the problem and it was consistent where I was often stranded. I got rid of it.

I have a Caliber and I'm having similar issues, my car starts but it won't turn over ( as in the starter motor will turn the engine, but combustion isn't happening). It just cold really really cold and then refused to start the next day, it only sat for one day. I'm hoping it's not a relay issue since it does crank when I try to start it, my next best guess is to try fuses #18, 23, 26, 32 & 33 or much less likely I might have frozen water in my fuel lines??

my 2016 patriot still has the starting issues, but if I put it into neutral and back to park it starts right up, the no radio issue may because when you disconnect the batt, in some cars you have to put a code in to unlock it. I also found out the modular that works the safety switch in the shifter also works the auto lock doors. I found out that my rear hatch door would not lock. checked the switch in the hatch and found it to be unplugged, car was never in an accident so no reason for it to be disconnected. I plugged it back in, but not sure if the starting problem was before or after. I had just bought the car a month before. I just put up with the problem, which is easier then not being able to lock my car.

I called Jeep because I am having the same issue with my 2016. I was told about the recall for the catilac converter so I think that might be our problem guys!
