2015 wrangler rubicon jku abs and traction light on upon start up

Asked by GuruVRKK5 Sep 08, 2018 at 09:31 PM about the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do you reset the computer on a 2015 wrangler rubicon jku?  My abs
and traction light on upon start up and during initial take off the brakes will
grab and release.  I replaced the front sensor cables but did not fix the
problem.
I disconnected the battery for 1 hour thinking it might reset the computer but
that didn't work.  I'm going to replace the rear sensors next and hopefully that
will solve the problem.  Is there a computer reset procedure I need to follow?
Thanks for the help!

I just got my 2015 Sahara out of the dealership garage. $780.00. Changed one rear speed sensor and repaired wiring on both sides going to the wheel speed sensors. Yes that was repaired, not replaced. This day and age you would think the internal wiring on a vehicle would last a tad longer huh. Well it did last long enough to pass the warranty time frame. Good enough for Jeep I guess.

Buy yourself an OBD-II diagnostic tool that includes the ABS testing feature. You'll have an option to clear the computer codes which will turn off the warning lights. Be aware, however, that if you don't fix the problem the computer will continue to receive the trouble code and turn the warning lights back on relatively quickly. I've had a number of scanning tools over the years, and while I liked my old Craftsman one quite a bit, I purchased a new one from BlueDriver over the holidays. I haven't used it yet, but I'm told it's extremely capable. It cost about $100, so it pays for itself pretty much the first time it guides you to the source of the problem and saves you a trip to the dealer for a simple repair. Good luck!

2015 Sahara also doing the same thing. Not just lights but abs will pump and stop the vehicle for the first 100 ft or so. Taking it to dealership today. Thanks for the wiring info in previous answers, just in case they just want to replace the sensor.
