door wont lock from the inside

I have a 2015 ford fusion titanium and I don't have kids but I do have my nephews with me from time to time, this has happened twice my nephew has opened the door from the inside while I was driving and when it happened I was scared and shocked I double checked to see if I locked the door and it was indeed locked. I even tried looking on the outside side of the door for a little child lock switch and I didn't find anything, I mean this is beyond dangerous, and I don't know how to fix it, this has happened twice! they were in their car seat but I need to fix this!

I have a 2017 ford fusion - same thing happened to me and my granddaughter - ford dealer told me this is normal
