Side Detection Not Working

When I first got my car the side detection was working. About several months ago there were a big snow storm and my side detection module has not worked since. What can i do to fix this problem? When I turn the key on my car it says service side detection system. What can be the problem and how do I fix it without going to the dealer? I enjoyed the side detection because it save me so many times.

How much do you think the sensor cost and can I buy one that is used

Just like ed said module was obstructed. Make sue snap back in clip or will slide in bumper.
