my cooling fan stays on for several minutes after engine is shut off?
temperature gage not reading?
is it safe to drive the truck?

It's safe to drive but you should check the wiring going to the coolant temperature sensor. Sounds like the sensor is unplugged. Is your check engine light or service engine soon light on? If so I'd bet you have a code for the coolant temperature sensor. Hope that helps! Jim
