Issue with v10 running rough.

Asked by Tim Aug 25, 2019 at 06:34 PM about the 2001 Ford Excursion Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 Excursion with v10 (limited 4x4).  Has been a couple
weeks, and I have been trying to diagnose the problem. It
will produce codes P0174 and P0171.  I have already
replaced o2 sensors, pcv valve, air filter, did a smoke test
for vacuum leaks, nothing has improved.  Looking at live
data it looks like a vacuum leak, and if that is the case can't
find it.  About ready to just take it to a mechanic along with
a jar of vasoline.  At its end.

Keep looking for that air leak. Try using starting fluid, carb cleaner or another flammable spray. Be careful!

It might need spark plugs, but a vacuum leak is also a possibility..... sometimes the break booster leaks inside, and u won’t see the smoke
