Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2015 Sienna, purchased less than a month ago, had had two instances where it won't start.  Message on the dash says to check the charging system.  A few minutes later, the car starts with no trouble.  I have had it in for service, but they cannot find anything wrong.

Did you find what was the issue? We leased a 2015 Sienna a week ago and had the same issue yesterday. It didn't start with Message on the dash says to "check the charging system" and then it started after a few minutes. Please share if you found what caused it.

The dealership checked the charging system (including battery) and found nothing wrong. Then, a few days later it happened again. In a short time, the dealership gave me a new battery, even though they couldn't find a problem with the battery. Since then (3 or 4 months ago), there has been no problem.

I had the same problem last night. A month ago, there was an issue with my spoiler and trunk "suspension"--I have had my van for about 2 months and have experienced some alarming concerns.

I had the same problem and tried this solution posted on siennachat.com. I get the 'check the charging system' message if i release the break and don't hold the start button longer. Using below step van starts properly. 1) Apply break firmly to unlock sensor 2) Press and HOLD the push button start until the engine turns over. (the step that was not properly applied) 3) Release brake and put in drive

I just had this issue with my 2018 Sienna. It had something to do with the steering wheel lock. once I moved the wheel an inch to the right, it started just fine. Weird glitch

It may be the entertainment system. I had same a problem with my Toyota Sienna 2015 XLE. I removed the radio fuse and now it starts without any issue.
