Mom's car won't accelerate

Asked by GuruDYGB3J Apr 16, 2024 at 02:57 PM about the 2015 Nissan Juke SV AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My mom's brake lights are working but tail lights would not come on when she
turned her headlights on, so she took it in to have that fixed and now when she
turns the headlights on car will not accelerate with the pedal to the floor and will
only get to 45mph but accelerates just fine when she turns the headlights off.

Yep they screwed it up. If you took it to the dealer then take it back as the repairs should be covered by the shop. If you took it to an independent shop call them back and see if they will fix it right, if they give you the run around then get a different shop to fix it and present the other shop with the bill. If the recurs ego pay then threaten claims court. Document everything.

They have had the car on and off for a month and they even took to a so called nissan expert and still can't figure it out what is going on so need some ideas.

If you’re still at the same shop then they need to undo the repairs they made and see if the problem goes away. Then fix it right, it sounds like they just tapped into a circuit that should not have been messed with.
