Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My ford exploers alarm keeps going off when
doors locked. When left unlocked the lights keep
going on and off. Says it's a bad back latch. The
back latch has been replaced but the alarm still
keeps going off.there isn't any alarms saying door
ajar or any signs that something is left open.

Yes, it's at dealer shop now. They are having a hard time figuring out why it keeps going off even when latch is replaced.

Was there a resolution to this issue? I have a 2016 Explorer Sport with the same symptoms.

The solution for me was the following. My issue occurred after the dealer performed a recall for carbon monoxide. Part of the recall was to install 2 aluminum covers over some openings in the rear bumper. Once the aluminum covers were removed the problem ceased to exist. I believe they were interfering with the Kick Sensor.

Did removing aluminum covers create an issue then again for the carbon monoxide issue?
