isn't covered under the emissions warranty????
I believe emissions warranties run a 100,000 miles. If it is not covered get another price from an independent shop.
They said 3 years 36000 miles. I contacted Honda and they agreed to pay 80% of repair cost. It ended up costing $260 for me. Still very disappointed in Honda and definitely not a fan of the Pilot! Thanks for your help.
You need to look at the emission warranty which is separate from the drive train warranty. $260 is not bad at all though so you got a good deal after all.
I had the same problem. My car EXL is 57K miles. They said it's under the warranty (maybe powertrain) I did not buy any extended warranty.
I had the same problem. My car EXL 2016 is 57K miles. They said it's under the warranty (maybe powertrain) I did not buy any extended warranty.
Hi I would like to get some advice. I have 2019 Honda Pilot and have a exactly same problem. However, the dealer said I put low quality of gas which I use same grade gas and gas station every day. And they ask me I have to make an empty of gas tank and clean up then, put new gas. However it costs $1500. How can I handle this situation? I am so frustrated their service and explanations.
I have the same problem now except I have 64,000 on my Pilot 2017 so out of power train warranty. Going to contact Pilot to see if they will do anything fingers crossed.
Please let me know the outcome. I have the same model, year, mileage and issue. Thank you !
Currently having the same issue on 2017 Pilot, a little over 60,000 miles. Told by Honda Dealership that fuel injectors need to be replaced. They will not offer an assistance saying it was only covered for the first 3 years 36000 miles.
I have a 2017 pilot with a emissions systems problem light come on. I heard that if you live in some states, this problem might be covered. I live in NJ and I might be covered. Taking the car to the dealership next week. I'll keep you guys posted!
This is the fourth time I’ve had this happen with my 2017 Pilot. There has to be a defect in this year/model.
My wife had the emissions message come on yesterday and I found this post. update today, car at dealership. They said fuel injectors need to be replaced but it is covered by standard warranty (84 months or 82,000 miles). In a holy crap moment of good luck, we have 81,800 on our 2016!
Can I drive my 2019 Pilot when the Emissions system light comes on??

The Emission System Problem light just came on in my 2017 Honda Pilot milage 43,812. I was worried that it wouldn't be covered but they just called and said that it is covered under warranty.

My 2019 Honda pilot 2017 Honda pilot with 53,000 miles. I had the same warning light come on. But prior to the warning light coming on; my right turn signal camera froze in the on position. Then the warning light activated. This exact situation has happened twice now. Anyone else experienced this? (Not covered by warranty had to have the fuel injectors replaced.)

Have the same problem TSB 18 025 should cover the repairs
Same issue with a 2017 Pilot with 30K miles. I just bought this car a month ago. Looks like I won't be keeping it very long, or ever buy another Honda again. Shame on you Honda!

My 2016 Pilot had same “emission system” problem. Honda ran a $130 computer check and said the fuel injectors need to be replaced at a cost of $1212. Car has 84,000 miles & is out of warranty. Obviously I wasn’t happy & service manager said I could try putting fuel injector cleaner in fuel tank but no guarantee it would help. I put Chevron’s Techron fuel cleaner in tank ($4.58 @ Walmart) & so far after driving a thousand miles or so it seems to be working. Only thing I can surmise is fuel injectors we’re just dirty.
I have a 2017 Pilot with 42K miles. This week the emission light came on. I took it to the dealer and they said I needed my injectors changed. Of course it is out of the regular warranty. We did purchase the extended warranty, thank goodness. I think there should be a recall for this. The dealer also wanted me to have preventative maintenance to clean my "rails" that lead to the injectors ($170). I told him no way. A car with this mileage shouldn't need this maintenance.

I just had this issue with my 2017 Ridgeline at 61K. My dealer indicated that Honda was covering it because it was an recurring issue with the Ridgeline. If you paid for it, I would contact your dealership's service manager and see if it is now covered and if they can refund your payment.

Just ran into this issue with my 2018 Honda Pilot with 45K miles. Found that Honda America extended the Fuel Injector Coverage to 10years/150K miles. Getting replaced at no cost to me. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10187289-0001.pdf

I have a 2017 Pilot Touring w/74K miles in CA & the Emission System Problem light came on & auto shop said the error code P0430 came up. Will take it to the local Honda dealership tomorrow to see if it is a catalytic converter issue (the auto shop said I needed a new one; is covered under CA warranty for 8years or 80K) or something else (02 sensor). Maybe it's the fuel injectors like a lot of you mentioned. Thank you for posting that Honda extended the warranty of fuel injectors!

10/21 Just got my 2017 Touring Pilot w/74K miles from the local Honda dealership & in fact it was the fuel injectors and not the cat converter (had error code P0430 & auto shop said I needed a new cat conv). Like Guru9SRP5 said above, Honda extended the warranty on fuel injectors on certain model years bec "fuel injectors may not have been manufactored to proper specifications." Thank you all for your info! It was helpful!

Wanted to add that per the Honda statement regarding this issue, they said, "Also, the PCM software may misinterpret sensor inputs as a deteriorated catalytic converter" (which happened to be the case for my car.
