Excessive idle

My 2016 Forester XT idles
excessively, why?  In Florida (Warm
weather) it will idle at 1400rpm for
about 5 minutes, and let's say t hats
ok. But as I use the car during the
day every time I stop somewhere
when I restart it will idle again for
minutes, all day long. So my gas
milage suffers tremendously.

How can I stop this, it is really
excessive and dealer does nothing.

Are you saying the idle is high when the car is warm? What exactly does the dealer say about this?

If the AC is running and the engine cooling fans are on the engine will idle higher than usual. If you are sitting in traffic or just idling the car a lot it will totally tank your MPG.
