Brake Noise
Asked by ZoomZoomGrl Oct 11, 2018 at 04:43 PM about the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3 i Touring
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Noticed a couple days ago that car was making a
metal on metal screeching noise. Not loud, but
noticeable. Happens when car is driving, when I
push the brakes a low pitched whine comes from
breaks. Car seems to drive perfectly normal. What
could be the cause? Does it have something to do
with my brake pads or bearings?

A lot of brake pads come with a brake pad wear indicator made onto pad it is a piece of metal that will rub against rotor causing a squealing sound when brake pads needs to be replaced.
I have the same problem. Just replaced the brakes and rotors on my 2016 hatch. Still squealing

Is noise happening all the time or just when brakes are applied ?
Yeah, so I figured it out. I replaced the front ones first, then I replaced the rear. The rear pads were loosely hitting the rotors
I have same problem replaced pads and rotors all round twice getting rubbing noise between 10 m ph and 30, callipers not sticking then occasionally getting squeezing noise from os front brake ,which goes away if I gently touch brake pedel , I I press a little harder there is a squeezing noise from around the master cylender area , checked for run out at bearings and discs with a dial guage they are within tolerance , it's got me stumped ,iv even changed the flexi hoses at the 4 callipers bled the full system ,can't think of anything else other than the ABS module ,anybody having the same issues .would appreciate any help thanks
guru6WS47 did you ever get an answer?? I have the same problem on 2014 CX 5 , brakes rotors replaced and about a month later, when brakes are heated, I get a rubbing noise about 2-25 mph, especially when turning and only when braking. Mechanic is stumped.
