why does my '04 Accord ex surge and hesitate while accelerating at 2700 to 3000 rpm?

the engine 1st did the power loss as I was accelerating going up slight hill.
then it ran normal ,maybe,15-20 min.  the under moderate to hard accel. it
hesitated again. the little engine lite came on and stayed on, the engine
would get me where I was going but I had to baby it some.

If check engine light is on should take vehicle to auto parts store like auto zone and have them scan for codes for free which will them you why your vehicle is running the way it is.

Your VTC screen needs to be cleaned or replace your Vtec oil pressure switch
