If you have a set of fobs and one gets stolen, and you buy a new fob and program car to accept it, the dealer or locksmith can delete old keys or fobs. Some cars can have up to 8 keys programmed to it. If you tell whoever is doing the programming to be sure to delete old keys or fobs, then you won't have to worry about a stolen older fob being used to open the car.
