Trunk wont open on 2016 Malibu Premier

Trunk wont open with key fob or exterior button.  This
vehicle does not come with a trunk release from inside the
cabin.

I replaced the #6 fuse already and had no luck.  Any ideas
on what else it could be?

Could be a latch failure or even broken wiring for the trunk lid. There is an emergency release inside the trunk itself so you might need someone small to get in there after you remove the rear seat back.
