We have a 2019 rogue and it’s doing the same thing. Push on off knob and it does nothing.

Our 2017 Rogue Sport SL is in the shop now for this issue. The service tech told me that this has never happened on ANY Nissan before. They are working to get Nissan engineering to look at it.

Yep, apparently, they cannot figure it out. I was told yesterday that this is the way they work. Funny thing is, it did not have this problem 2 weeks ago, nor does my 2017 Titan have this problem. Same radio with NAV. The dealer said they checked another 2017 Rogue, and it does the same thing. So, I think the one that they checked has the same problem, and needs to be repaired. Will be calling consumer affairs about this one today.
I am in a 2019 Rogue as a National Car rental. The stereo was working this morning, and then it quit and said "Audio Off". I could not press any on-screen buttons that made a difference. Volume dial would not do anything. I turned the vehicle on and off a few times to no avail. Ultimately, I pressed the power button (on the center of the volume button) and held it down until it hard restarted the system and it is working again now.
I have done this before to fix this issue on my wife's Rogue. Disconnect the negative battery cable. open the drivers door, near the side of the dash there are three plastic nuts. These are covers for the bolts securing the main dash beam. Remove those. Slightly tighten the bolts behind them. It helps re-establish the ground connection on the main dash beam. Put the plastic caps back on. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and test. Sounds crazy but is a fairly simple solution and I have seen it work... getting ready to do it again on my wife's car.
Thank you for the help. My wife was in an Enterprise rental and i followed the answer Brian described and it worked, while i was on the phone with her.

2018 Nissan Murano. Display and radio would stay on after turning car off. The solution was to unplug my cellphone charger from car. I have a charging cable that lights up. When I went back to my car to see if the display was on (it was) I noticed my phone car adapter was still blinking. I unplugged it from the 12v socket and the display instantly turned off. Weird.
Factory installed radio would not turn off. It ended up being the ignition switch. All I had to do was spray a little WD 40 on my key. Easy fix.
