Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought the car and it was modified by previous owner and I'm not sure how to go about fixing the shocks all
the way around. It's riding rough and I feel like I'm destroying it every time I hit a bump.

Not to sound like a total noob but how do I find out all the specs on my car when I have no contact with previous owner. I know absolutely nothing about cars and hope to learn by making these repairs on my own. To save money also.

take off the rims and take a picture please. you can tell if its lowered by not only the look of the spring but the color take a look at your shocks do they have dust collecting like its wet near where the shaft slides into the bottom part of the shock? do they squeak or when you push on the body of the car does it bounce like its a friggin pogo stick? those are all ways to tell if your shocks are bunk. if you want to know if its been lowered are all the coils on your spring the same size? is the spring another color other then black? those are the ways to tell if it has been lowered

Ok cool. Thanx. It's raining now but as soon as it stops I will take pics and things. But there is no pogo bounce or noise. It just sounds like a bomb went off every time I hit a bump on the road. It hits really hard and sounds like I broke something

it is def lowered. my buddy had a 95 ford probe that we put adjustable coilovers in and every bump we hit sounded like metal on metal. it handled well but the ride quality suffered. which was expected
