Is my 2001 Ford Taurus thermostat stuck open?

My 2001 Ford Taurus engine seems like its running hot. My temperature gauge doesn't show any overheating and it only shows a little lower than half way and the coolant overflow tank looks like the coolant is always full and coolant hasn't moved. There are no leaks and it summer time so its hard to use the hot air thru the vents test as its hot outside. Oil level is normal and looks normal as well.(no water or bubbles)

PS - Air out of vent is REALLY HOT (a/c doesnt work btw, probably compressor) and the oil cap is really hot to the touch.
