2013 Jetta Sedan 2.0 won't turn over. Battery is charged.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Jetta Sedan 2.0 won't turn over.  Battery is charged and I tried
boosting the car to start it. All dashboard and lights are ok.  I get one click from
fuse panel area when I try to start it. Could it be a relay in the fuse panel?

Yes, VW's do have relay problems, even if they click the internal points maybe shot. You should also check the battery's ability to hold a load, and the main cables are not full of corrosion so they lose voltage, and of course the starter motor itself needs tested.

Thanks for your input...I tried replacing 4 of 5 relays cause I couldn't access the fifth but problem still exists. The battery and contacts are really clean and solid. At this point it looks like starter motor itself is the problem. Thank you Gene.

Our old VW fried the wiring right at the starter, so I had to replace the cable.
