Limp mode

Asked by Zuz Sep 22, 2018 at 02:55 AM about the 2005 Volkswagen Passat GLS V6 Wagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi guys, I have Volkswagen Passat B6 and I am
guessing if the transmission solenoid may be the
problem here. After starting  Limp mode occures.
All PRNDS are lit and I am unable to shift to
Reverse, only to D and there is just 2rd available.
Diagnosis showed the Mechatronic issue but
nothing specific. I was in 3 services but nobody
knows how to fix it. Can you help?

I, too, have the 3rd gear limp mode, though I do have reverse. My back brakes were dragging and in need of replacement when this happened. Someone mentioned a 'reflash'. Anyone have some info that could help? Cost? dealership repair required? Etc. I SOOOO appreciate it. I am ready to write the car off. I love it and have sunk money into repairs over the past 2 years ($2500ish). Vehicle info: 2008 VW Passat 3.6L 4Motion Sedan with 213,000 miles. THANKS, ALL!!!!!
