My car got hot the other day and shut off
i let it cool down and it would not start
back replaced water pump as that was
why it was getting hot the car cranks but
sounds like it is crankin slowly almost like
dead battery or like its seized up could
this be from water on the cylinder head
or on top of piston possibly

Slow crank is from worn battery , bad connections , voltage drop in starter cable
Most likely the starter was damaged by the excessive heat from the engine overheating. If the engine was hydrostaticly locked (water in the cylinders) it wouldn't crank at all. Liquid can't be compressed. Hope that helps! Jim
If it got hot enough the inside of the engine block turn blue and the rings collapse, then compression goes bye bye. However it sounds like you fried the starter due to excessive heat and trying to crank it over can and will internally fry the battery and the main power cables.
