2012 Genesis Coupe display screen stuck in night mode

Asked by Guru27KBW Mar 06, 2020 at 10:52 PM about the 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Premium RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The dash display on my 2012 Genesis Coupe suddenly decided that it is
always night.  During daylight, the odometer, speedometer, tach, etc., all
display as a very dark navy blue.  This is impossible to read when driving
during daylight.  The nav system/radio display is in the normal "daytime" mode
and is easy to read.  This is the first time this has happened.  Any suggestions
on how to fix this?

Check to see if your head lights are on or if the dash lights dimmer has been turned all the way down.

Headlights are not on, Dimmer is not turned down, it's actually on the brightest setting.

Have you tried pulling the display fuse or disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes which might reset the system?

Ended up removing fuses while accessory was on, but car was not running. This did the trick. Thank you all for your suggestions!

I have a 2010 Genesis coupe and seem to have the same problem. I tried removing the 7.5 amp fuse that controls the display while in acc mode as you advised but did not work. What fuse(s) did you remove?

Your Answer:

Genesis
