I have a 1990 honda civic lx and the engine has a loss of power and rough idle and also burning more fuel than it should. also smoke coming out the exaust with a lean fuel smell. just took the cat off

Yeah look for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold and throttle body and intake manifold gaskets may need to be replaced! Also the problem could be the idle control valve located at the back of the intake manifold! Also could be bad injectors/fuel pump... But check the left side of the intake manifold where the map sensor is and there looks like a big screw you need a flat head for it and twist it all the way on the try loosining it and see if you notice a change in the idle
