my 06 sonata has started hesitating to start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
it turns over, but won't start up, if i turn it to where the gauges power up, it will start right up. I have used pure gas for over 4 years now, but put ethanol in it twice before this started happening. any ideas?

Ethanol is always bad. Switch to non-ethanol and see if issues go away. You can also try some SeaFoam in the gas to clear up residue from ethanol.

well i switched back to no ethanol and had no problems for a few days, and then last night it hesitated to start again. I guess i should have put that part in my question.. I'm going in to have the fuel filter replaced and possibly new spark plugs. I just wonder if the starter is going out?

........run some fuel system cleaner such as SeaFoam this will help get rid of the residue from the ethanol.
possibly your cam postition sensor. I had 2 go bad on my 2005 sonata. very easy to replace...
