My air / fan/ heat control

  when I try to turn on the max air and the fan it won't work, but I slam the glove compartment  and it starts.   but after a week its not working.  I took the dash off and the plug in are ok. and change the fuses.

What type of car are we talking? There are high speed blower relays on some vehicles

sounds like either a blower motor or a resistor for the blower.also check the conector at the blower motor its ight behind the glove box door. ive seen some of these melt and short together
