2005 Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor

Asked by GuruY197P Mar 13, 2018 at 08:16 PM about the 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Kompressor Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a manual transmission 2005 c230
Kompressor about a year ago. While I’ve done all
the required maintenance, I am having issues with
the cars overall pickup power. Real issue is When I
go to get on the highway, but when I  just push the
gas pedal down in general it seems like the car
struggles to pick up speed as I believe it should be
able to. The engine does need a valve cover gasket
replacement, which I have ordered and plan to do.

It also has a leak at the base of the the valve stem
with the red transmission cap. And the engine
seems to get hot very quick regardless of the
coolant being at max level. So any advice on how to
fix that and ways to check trans fluid accurately
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Overheating of your aluminum head is no laughing matter. Flush system, replace Themostat and temp sensor. If over heating persists you might have a bad head gasket. Also if you bought the car used and the former owner used ANY brand of stop leak you will need a complete flush and possibly replace the radiator after. I know because I had to deal with previous owner issue. Great car, I bought to fix and flip but enjoyed it so much that I've kept it.
