2004 Mercedes c230 kompressor will not start help

I have a 2004 Mercedes c230 kompressor
while driving it shut off on me coasted into a
parking lot and it sounds like the starter is
engaging but does not sound like it is turning
the engine over any ideas? Any help is
appreciated

I was told by belle tire timing chain broke but I would think I would hear some noise when cranking if that were the case

Any update on this? Sounds like a broken timing belt....
