Asked by MyRudeMerc Jan 13, 2017 at 03:55 AM about the 2004 Mercedes-Benz C-Class C 230 Kompressor Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Suspected & hoped it was just battery failure but it isnt as after a recharge it
just won't start..Symptoms.. rough idle, power loss, SRS light & ABS light came
on. Me camshaft sensor (the plug sitting above the ignition coils in the engine)
or crankshaft sensor's casing brittled & cracked as temporary measure I had to
wrap it up with some insulation tape that was claimed to be able to withstand
600 degree celcius.. btw, that swnsor has 3 pins.

Mechanic who recharged up me battery reckon the alternator failure but after a
couple of hours researching internet I think it could be the voltage regulator,
which sits & controls the alternator.
