Small metal rod hanging

Asked by GTGirly Aug 15, 2018 at 10:55 AM about the 2000 Ford Mustang GT Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So this morning I was driving and heard metal scraping on the ground on the
front passenger's side of my 2000 Ford Mustang - I pulled over and the back
part of a much longer pencil thin rod was broken off and hanging.  It looked
like there were large comb-like metal teeth on it too - what is it?

I have a million year old phone that doesn't have a camera - I found this pic online and it kind of looks like that very long, slim metal bar
