VDC Off and Slip come up on dashboard. Car will not accelerate. I disconnected battery, made sure it is 12.9 volts and performed re-learned procedures: no change.

VDC = vehicle dynamic control. VDC off - allows car to spin. This automatically comes on every time ignition is turned off. It should not show "on" on dashboard when ignition is turned on - there should be no light for VDC on when ignition turned on. In other words for some reason VDC is "off" instead of "on" when turning on ignition. How do I fix this?
infinitibob answered 9 years ago
To clarify further: "VDC off" is coming on in conjunction with "Slip" as well as "Service Engine Soon" showing when ignition is turned on.
Probably too late but camshaft sensor had to be replaced and fixed same issues you were having.

Check break fluid prior to Cam sensors! Low fluid enables bouncing flap in master cylinder to turn on VDO Slip. Then bank 2 sensor first if no cj Hangs on top off.
I have a 2004 Infiniti Fx35 with check Engine light on , slip & VDC lights on the dash board. After checking it out at auto zone, I was told to change the camshaft position sensors bank 1 & bank 2 including bank 2 sensor 1 O2 sensors. I did all of these things by buying them online and installed them . Slip & VDC lights still come on the dashboard and sometimes the vehicle shutoff while at the stop sign or at the light. This is very troubling. Please help me with any advice to help fix this problem.
Check out the muffler bearings, both of them! : D

Marnie did you get you car fix im having the same problems..
Wow im having the same exact problem as marine123 sn and stealth.. If y'all find the solution WOULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW.....
It may be abs sensor issue on one of your wheels
JrG35 thanks but all keep pointing at the cam sensors. Why? Cause i had an oil leak and one of the reasons why the sensors can go bad is because of oil leak, well i just fix that problem ($382)!! now i gotta fix both cam which are $150+tax each 4m the dealership. Why the dealership? Cause the after market are not warranty to work. So i will not waste my money on parts and labor and then ill have to do it all over again, i just might as well do it right the first time even tho its more and get it over with... Thank u and all the ppl with their feed backs... Oh yeah and wish me good luck cause everything im fixing cost to much but hopefully they'll work..
Idk because I don't know why a cam sensor will at a slip or vds call mom do too it is a break/tracton control system? Let us know please....reason I think it might be a break ABS sensor is because one sensor not reading data on your wheels when turning I was in the computer to think it is slipping and try to correct it self
Sorry come on* not call mom
I just did some suspension work and these lights (Slip & VDC off) are definitely due to ABS/ABS sensors, I would take some brake cleaner and try cleaning them. In some rare cases, if you've removed the calipers you might want to press the breaks like 20 times hard so that the caliper pistons can travel back to their original position when there are finally mounted again.

VDC off and SLIP = CAN Communication or Steering Angle Sensor The steering angle sensor ($800-950) is likely the problem. Your best option is taking it to a reputable non-chain repair shop or dealer. You need a tech does more than just oil change and has a diagnostic computer to handle this. Check their online reviews. Don't use any aftermarket parts or used/recycle part, especially the angle sensor is part of your airbag system (SRS).
I just got my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder out of the shop for the very same reason. VDC would stay on and not go off. Took it to three mechanics they couldn't figure it out so I finally found one and it turned out to be a camshaft sensor
VDC was caused by bad cam shaft sensor
By any chance did any of you guys had a flat tire!!?? I had the same problem when I put the spare tire and is for safety that you don’t pass of certain speed on spare tire.
guruw3xry i had a flat!! i threw on the spare tire half way to my destination i had the ABS, SLIP, and VDC lights come on once got to where i had to be i turned off the car then turned it back on the ABS came off but now i have the SLIP & VDC on?! how would i fix this!?! will they go away when i put the rim back on?
I don’t know if it is a coincidence but I get following issues when I run car on low tire pressure - vdc on - Slip Or - car stops (usually when on low speed) just like that ( I wait for few minutes and turn back on) note- 2 years back I had similar problem and had O2 sensor replaced...
I have similar issue late start and lights turn on but the truck don't runs smooth its like fuel injection problem or similar.
Well recently I went over a bump and the VDC OFF, Slip and brake light came on at the same time. I know that something is wrong because my car is noticeably faster. I need help and answers. Btw I have a 06 FX35

Just had this happen with a 2009 G37 Infiniti. Using the suggestion of pumping the brakes hard 20x, I turned the car off, then on again, and it seems to have worked as the dash lights turned off. Whether this was due to the arctic temps we're experiencing thisThanksgiving Day, I don't know, but this fix seems to have worked for me.
If you change the camshaft sensors buy them at the dealer auto zone ones dont work
I am having exactly the same issue, the VDC and Slip indicators coming on a lot. I ignored them earlier but now my car getting cutoff when I slow down to almost a halt. I have 2004 G35. I remembered having a sensor replaced by a dealership about 5-7 years ago with the same problems. I think it would be the same, have appointment with a dealership this evening.
Hello wat was the problem with ur car? I am having the same issue now but im guessing it’s because my rear rotor is repeatedly getting warped fast probably fews months after I just changed them.
The answer can be just as simple as adding brake fluid. I looked up a few videos on YouTube and found out that if your brake fluid is just slightly low these lights would come on. I went to the auto store to purchase brake fluid, filled it to the max level and the lights went away. As crazy as it seem it actually worked. Give it a try before wasting money.
I had the same exact issue, put in a computer I bought to give me an error code, it gave me two for the pedal position sensor. Changed it, problem fixed. The pedal has two sensors so you have to replace the entire pedal since the sensors are not sold separately.

I, have a 2004 G35 Infinty that I bought and 2 days later I found myself on the side of the road cause it had no power. I, called the guy and he told he knew a machanic and get the car over there. I, called and checked on it and he said it was my fuel pump. I went and bought one installed it, then next thing I know my VDC light came on and off, then my door light came on but would only say my driver door was open. I cleaned all door sensors but still didn't work. Oh, brake fluid was very load so I topped it off still not working. Need, some help PLEASE! Mark
So my INFINITY m35 check engine light came on, (VDC, SLIP, AND RAS) ALL AT THE SAME TIME???

Guru1M1PN - i'm having the same issue - any idea? so many lights just stay on
I have the same problem with losing power/stalling and the SES, VDC, Slip and Tire pressure lights all coming on. I brought it in to my mechanic and they replaced the fuel sensor last week. All lights were off, then just 2 days ago, same thing happened. For reference, my SES light has been on for a long time but everything was running fine. The tire pressure sensor was the first to come on with the SES, then the VDC and Slip came on afterwards and the car started to stall. I pulled over and turned the car off and restarted and the warning lights were off. Today the tire pressure light is back on. I'm guessing it's going to cascade and trigger the other lights soon. Will take it in to see what's next. This is getting expensive though.
Check tires and get wheel alignment
So did anyone ever figure this out ? I have an 05g35, and randomly usually when just starting to drive, the vdc off light comes on, along with “slip”,the car loses power completely, still running, but no power at all, I shut it off and restart it and it works like normal. Sometimes it needs to be restarted multiple times before it’s fine. I’ve replaced the cam shaft sensor in the car a while ago, the one under the car, and this problem just started to happen recently,I don’t think it could be that. I’m going to check my brake fluid tomorrow and see if it needs any. But it’d help if someone knew about this problem more than I did and could point me in the right direction.
Had problem of such on my 2004 G35 and although suggestions are with regard to breaks and/or beak fluid, past history has actually shown that it is time for the transmission to be serviced. Each and every time these lights have appeared on my dash, a simple transmission service/fluid flush has resolved the issue, eliminated the tendency to want to stall as it is actually the trans slipping from dirty fluid whereas the vehicle does not want to move. Transmission service has always been my simple resolve. HW2

Tbh I try everything inside out I found a broken wire in the wiring harness for the engine sometimes a broken wire can be on the map sensor or the throttle bodies or another component one broken wire will tell the vehicle that a part needs replacing when it doesn't need replacing it just needs to have the wire fixed it's expensive to have a mechanic look through the whole harness and it's also expensive to purchase a new harness but if you're having these symptoms like crank position sensors and brake fluid and pedal sensors and it doesn't go away there's definitely a broken wire and you're wiring harness I changed my wiring harness and the problem was solved
Check the brake sensor switch above the brake pedal. There is a hole in the metal bracket that the sensor switch goes into. That hole should have a rubber grommet in it that the switch presses against until you press on your brake pedal then the spring loaded switch releases. If the grommet isn't in the hole the switch is released activating your brake lights and triggering your VDC, bad and slip lights and prevents you from accelerating. Plug it! The lights will go off and accelerate normally.

My VDC & Slip was coming on when I got up to about 20 Miles an Hour. I remove my Dash Board to have it recover and in the process I had to removed the Steering Wheel. When I re- installed the Dash Board and the Steering Wheel I didn't aliened the Steering Wheel and the VDC sensor correctly, so when that was corrected the problem was solved.
